Ship Maintenance and Cleaning
Wet abrasive blasting machines for cleaning and maintaining all types of boats and ships, including fishing boats, yachts, commercial and private vessels
Wet abrasive blasting is highly effective at removing coatings, paints and other contaminants from all types of marine vessels and structures and is ideal for performing cleaning and maintenance during a ship’s two-year survey. It can also be used for cleaning away debris from ballast tanks, cable trays and decking, and cleans surfaces prior to welding.
Quill Falcon Kwikblast® wet abrasive blasting machines are suitable for use on all types of boats and materials and we can advise you as the size of machine best suited to your needs. Portable abrasive blasting equipment, such as the Falcon 15 or Falcon 60, can be carried onboard to carry out cleaning and maintenance work while at sea.
Wet abrasive blasting can be used to remove marine build-up and other contaminants from hulls, decks, propellors and onboard machinery, including:
- old industrial coatings
- old paint layers
- barnacles and algae
- soluble salts
Extensive testing has demonstrated that the Quill Falcon Kwikblast® System can reliably blast up to 18m2 an hour, uses 50% less grit when compared to a dry blaster, and profiles surfaces to SA 21/2, HB 21/2, SB 21/2, NACE VIS 9 and WAB 6/10 almost immediately, meaning that coatings adhere to surfaces better and for longer.
Quill Falcon Kwikblast® wet abrasive blasting machines are available for sale and hire throughout Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and the Asia Pacific.
